“Maggie” is a ballet dancer named after my fabulous wee friend who kindly posed and twirled around the garden for me. Suggestions of her movements are captured through the height in the skirt and her necklace lifted in the air. She balances on her toe on a beautiful piece of old Yew. Due to the position of her weight and the angle that she is set in the Yew, Maggie completes her own twirl when lifted. The sculpture is constructed of layers of fabric and Powertex.
