Maria Campbell

Fine Artist & Designer

Maria painting at Savile Place.JPG

I am a Midlothian based artist, trained at Edinburgh College of Art, currently concentrating on producing contemporary images of Scottish scenes and landmarks. My speciality is original paintings using acrylic on canvas. I use acrylic as a medium due to its versatility in creating colourful, textured and vibrant images. I use box canvasses and paint the edges to enable my work to be hung with or without a frame. Having grown up in the Scottish Highlands, I am inspired by strong colours, changing light and dramatic skies. This continues to influence my work as I seek to capture the changing moods in the land and myself. As I work from preliminary sketches and photographs, scenes from the past and present can be replicated in a variety of scales for commissions.
