Welcome to my studio.

I graduated from Edinburgh College of Art with a degree in Design and Applied Arts and have built a diverse creative career spanning fine art, sculpture, design and community engagement.

My artistic practice is rooted in a lifelong appreciation of Scotland's landscapes, alongside an interest in form, texture, memory and storytelling. Working across a variety of media and disciplines, I explore the relationship between materials, imagination and personal experience, creating work that ranges from traditional landscapes to expressive, three-dimensional forms.

Alongside my studio practice, I have spent many years working in theatre and community arts, bringing creativity to life through scenic art, prop making, education and collaborative projects.

Whether creating an original painting, developing a sculpture, designing props for a production or leading a community art project, my aim remains the same: to tell stories, inspire imagination and create work that leaves a lasting impression.

I believe art should do more than simply be seen. It should resonate — with the artist who creates it and with those who experience it. Art has the power to inspire, connect and enrich our lives, creating meaning that extends beyond the artwork itself.

Fine Art

My paintings are inspired by Scotland's landscapes - the quiet beauty of its lochs, forests, coastline and mountains, and the ever-changing light that transforms familiar places into something extraordinary.

Working in acrylic and mixed media on board or canvas, I create original paintings that celebrate both the beauty and atmosphere of Scotland.

Sculpture

My sculptural practice explores the relationship between form, texture and narrative, transforming a diverse range of materials into expressive three-dimensional works.

Working predominantly with mixed media, I enjoy experimenting with materials, surfaces and techniques to create sculptures that balance intricate detail with a strong sense of character and individuality. My work ranges from figurative and representational pieces to more imaginative and conceptual forms, often incorporating elements of symbolism and storytelling.

Inspired by the natural world, human experience, memory and imagination, my sculptures explore a variety of themes, from the playful and whimsical to the contemplative and emotive. I am particularly interested in the expressive qualities of materials and how their transformation can communicate ideas beyond their original form.

Each piece evolves through an intuitive process of experimentation, construction and refinement, allowing the materials themselves to influence the finished work. Through sculpture, I aim to create distinctive pieces that invite curiosity, interpretation and a personal connection with the viewer.

Scenic Art & Prop Design

My professional practice extends beyond the canvas into theatre and live events.

With experience in scenic painting, prop making, set dressing and creative design, I collaborate with production teams to create immersive visual environments that support powerful storytelling.

Each commission combines artistic creativity with practical craftsmanship, ensuring every piece is both visually striking and purpose-built.

Community Arts & Creative Workshops

Alongside my own artistic practice, I deliver creative workshops and tuition, from individual one-to-one sessions to group classes of up to 20 participants. My teaching encompasses a diverse range of techniques, including needle felting, painting, ink and bleach, and mixed media. Whether introducing someone to a new skill or encouraging them to develop their own artistic expression, I aim to create a welcoming, supportive and inspiring environment where creativity can flourish. For me, the greatest reward is helping others discover the enjoyment of making something personal and meaningful — work that resonates with them long after the creative process is complete.

Community engagement is an important part of my creative practice. As a member of Dalkeith Arts Committee, I am passionate about supporting the arts within the local community, encouraging creative participation and helping to make art accessible to people of all ages and abilities. I believe creativity has the power to bring people together, inspire confidence and foster a lasting connection between individuals, their communities and the arts.
