I am a Midlothian based artist, with a Design and Applied Arts degree from Edinburgh College of Art, currently concentrating on producing contemporary images of Scottish scenes and landmarks. My speciality is original paintings using acrylic on canvas. I use acrylic as a medium due to its versatility in creating colourful, textured and vibrant images. I use box canvasses and paint the edges to enable my work to be hung with or without a frame. Having grown up in the Highlands of Scotland, I am inspired by strong colours, changing light and dramatic skies. This continues to influence my work as I seek to capture the changing moods in the land, sea and myself. As I work from preliminary sketches and photographs, scenes from the past and present can be replicated in a variety of scales for commissions.

I’ve always had a love of the theatre and since 2018 I’ve been delighted to be involved with PwC Panto behind the scenes in the hair and make up team or making props.

I joined the committee of our local arts group, Dalkeith Arts, in 2018 where I have been involved with some major projects - sheep trail and refurbishing Woodburn Primary School Playground. Please see our website for more details. I tutor art classes for adults once a month on a variety of disciplines.
